Inderpal Bhandari was recognized for IBM’s leadership in this area by the CDO Club. Founded in 2013, the CDO Club is the world’s first, largest, and most powerful community of C-suite digital leaders, is dedicated to helping CDOs improve their capabilities, strengthen their professional networks, openly share insights and strategies, and collaboratively identify the tools essential to help them succeed in navigating today’s rapidly evolving, highly competitive and complex digital environment.
The world is experiencing an explosion of data, causing digital disruption across all industries. Enabling cognitive data solutions now and in the future requires a Chief Data Officer to develop a clear data strategy that includes governance and management systems, building a single data platform, as well as, deep data and analytics partnerships. These platforms become the central data source for business analytics across the enterprise and for developing and scaling talent.
In his role as CDO, Bhandari is responsible for setting IBM’s data strategy and transforming data into business value. He also focuses on improving customer experiences by delivering strategic, innovative capabilities that use analytic insights to enable growth and productivity.
“For companies that aim to infuse intelligence into everything they do, developing an enterprise data strategy will pay off over the long haul through increased efficiency and speed,” said Bhandari. “The cognitive mission we are pursuing within IBM is the mission we’re executing for our clients around the globe: to empower more organizational analytics, AI, data science, deep learning, and more, to help them make strategic business decisions based on insights extracted from data.”
Bhandari was presented with the award at the 2017 CDO Summit in Washington, D.C., on July 26, 2017.
